Family Fun on Canada Day!

Looking for some fun ways to celebrate Canada Day with your family on the holiday long weekend?

Get your red and white on! Decorate your house with red and white streamers and balloons. Don’t forget mini Canadian flags which you can pick up (along with many other decorations) at your local dollar store.

Have a Canada Day party, picnic, or BBQ for family and friends, and feature all your favourite Canadian foods. We're talking Nanimo bars, Poutine, Beaver Tails, and more!

Surf this totally fun kids’ site to discover all kinds of neat stuff about Canada. Learn about animals, geography, history, the arts, and more at Canadian Geographic Kids.

Get outdoors and celebrate our great country! Organize a family hike at a local Conservation Park. Have everyone wear something red and white to stay in the spirit (and to keep track of who’s in your group!).

Enjoy a traditional Canadian breakfast with real Canadian back bacon and pancakes with maple syrup.

Encourage young readers in your family to celebrate Canada Day with a great Canada-themed book. This is a great way to pay tribute to Canada’s rich diversity in a kid-friendly way. We like: Oh, Canada! by Per-Henrik Gürth - This colourful whirlwind journey across Canada takes young readers from coast to coast to coast, revealing the awe-inspiring scope and iconic images of their amazing country.

Don’t forget to check out the many great Canada Day events taking place in the GTA. Check out our Events Calendar for all things Canada Day!

And of course, top your night off by checking out a spectacular fireworks display!
